The ASP1000-P is compatible with which Brinno time-lapse camera?
The ASP1000-P can be used on the BCC2000 or the BCC2000Plus bundle. Please note that the APB1000 power bank needs to be installed in an ATH2000 housing.
Can I use the ASP1000 to direclty provide power to the camera?
We don't recommend using ASP1000 solar power as a direct external power source because the sun is a bit unreliable. Instead, you must use the APB1000 Power bank, and use it with the ASP1000 solar panel as an external power bank.
Battery life of the APB1000 if fully charged?
Please check this on the time-lapse calculator.
IP Rating of the ASP1000 & APB1000?
The ASP1000 is IP65 in its waterproof resistance.
The APB1000 is not waterproof. You need to install the ABB1000 inside the ATH2000 power housing, to replace the 16 AA battery case.
Can the ASP1000 be compatible with other brand power banks?
We suggest not using other brand power banks as the APB1000 power has been proven to be compatible with the ASP1000 solar panel and it can always be ON to provide power.
How long is the cable of the ASP1000?
It is 270 cm long.
How often should I clean the ASP1000?
It depends on your recording environment. In locations with higher dust levels, it's recommended to periodically clean the surface of the solar panels to ensure the best charging efficiency.
I used a regular power bank on the Brinno cameras before, unfortunately, it faild to provide power to the camera.
As the Brinno time-lapse cameras only consume a little power to operate, most of the other brand power banks will turn off and stop providing power when they detect the needed power is low. Unless you use the one that can always ON/turn off the power-saving mode. For your information, the APB1000 is always ON mode, and it can provide a continuous power supply for low-power Brinno time-lapse cameras or IoT applications.
How to install it?
Please refer to the user manual.
Do I need to charge the APB1000 before using it?
Yes, please fully charge the APB1000 before installing it into the ATH2000 housing.
How do I indicate the ASP10000 solar panel is charging the APB10000 power bank?
You may check the LED lights on the APB1000, it will blink in green to indicate it is been charged.
How to check the APB1000 power level?
The four LED at the side represents the power level. If the APB1000 is fully charged, four LEDs will light up in green.
Can I use only the APB1000 without the ASP1000?
Yes, you can use the APB1000 to provide power to the camera. Please check the power level regularly, and charge/switch the power bank if needed.
Is there a way to turn on/off the APP1000?
The APB1000 will always be ON when it connects to the camera, and it will auto turned off if it is removed from the camera.
APB1000 operating temperature.
Recommended ambient temperature is -4 °F ∼ 140 °F (-20 °C ∼ 60 °C).
How can I increase my solar power production?
Find a place that receives maximum sunlight throughout the day, and set the tilt angle to 30 degrees from the horizontal surface. (Quick Guide pg. 12)
What are the different ways of connecting solar panels?
Please refer to the user manual.
Can I install the ASP1000 indoors but facing outside/sunlight?
No, the ASP1000 solar panel needs to be placed outdoors and facing the sunlight directly to achieve the best results.
Can the BCS18-55 adjustable lens be used with the BCC2000/BCC2000Plus and the ASP1000-P?
No, the BCS 18-55 adjustable lens is not compatible with the BCC2000/BCC2000Plus when used alongside the ASP1000-P. Using this BCS 18-55 with these products may result in the ATH2000 housing being unable to close properly.
The ASP10000-P rechargeable battery kit's cable is a regular USB cable, I can't connect it to the camera which is a Type-C port.
Each ASP1000-P solar panel kit bundle is necessary to be used with an ATH2000 waterproof housing. The ATH2000 waterproof housing includes a Type C adapter for insertion into the ASP1000-P rechargeable battery kit’s cable, enabling connection to power sources such as BCC2000, BCC2000Plus, TLC2020, and TLC130.
